Description of Research Projects:
I am interested in understanding the brain in healthy and diseased states to help improve diagnosis and treatment of brain diseases. I earned my PhD in Experimental Psychology and Neuroscience from the Center for Studies in Behavioral Neurobiology (CSBN) at Concordia University in Montreal under the co-supervision of Dr. Wayne Brake and Dr. Peter Shizgal. I investigated the role of dopamine neurotransmission in the priming effect of natural and artificial rewards. I completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Concordia University’s CSBN with Dr. Mihaela Iordanova, where I examined neural systems involved in higher-order fear learning. Prior to this present role, I was a Visiting Assistant Professor of Psychology and Neuroscience at Colby College in Waterville, ME, USA. I taught undergraduate psychology and neuroscience courses and was the co-Principal Investigator of the Colby Behavioral Neuroscience lab. In my present role as a research project manager, I facilitate and coordinate collaborations to ensure the successful completion of research projects.
